This was a lame party, even by government standards. Then again, even if it were better furnished, Jack doubts that anyone would be in a particularly festive mood. Everyone here has been taken from their homes and their lives and the people they care about.

The party is a good opportunity to learn about his fellow abductees, Fatemarked and Sentinel alike. Regardless of any disgruntlement with his current status, Jack is falling back on his training: listen, observe, integrate.

And fitting in means grabbing a few slices and some soda. The food is pretty good, at least. He's hiding the Fatemark on his hand, but subtly.
