Martha hadn't wanted to say 'abducted' but it was true, even if they might have been taken for the right reasons. It would have been easier, Martha had tried to argue when she'd come, if they'd at least made the offer to people. Someone might have taken it (not Martha herself, of course, she'd already had an important job that was currently going undone) but someone might have come.
