meet-and-greet | January 2016
The Governors do this, sometimes; they hold a meet-and-greet for the new arrivals to help them get acclimated, and also to distract them from destroying their rooms. A message goes out to all the new arrivals informing them of a party with free food. Everyone likes free food, right?
In one of the recreation areas - sadly, not one of the ones accessible by slide - there are some chips, dip, some sodas and Solo cups, several large pizzas, and a surprising amount of Oreos.
Party.

"I mean, I think I'd like something slightly more intimidating than a flamingo, even if I'm supposed to be dangerous." She flashes a quick grin at that, and gives another little shrug. She holds up her hand, showing him the ridiculous little bow-and-arrow fatemark. "But I guess I'm not here because of how scary I am."

"My call sign and fatemark seem appropriate, all things considered, but I think I just lucked out with the call sign... Kinda." Because, really, it made his change seem far more fluffy and love me than it could be and that was a little unnerving. He gestures to the fatemark on Cissie's hand.
"Do you use a bow and arrow?" He was curious, but also trying to politely size her up. She smelled 100% human, but there was the chance she could hide abilities... or perhaps she just didn't want to talk about them. She could be happy for a degree of anonymity that had been granted to her here.

She glances at her hand and makes a face, but shrugs a shoulder and drops her hand back to her side. "I do. I mean, it's not even a very creative symbol. I've been shooting since before I can remember--literally. I compete professionally."
Never got a notif for this!!! So sorry!!
If there was anything Alex wanted right not, it was for some semblance of normalcy; and if that meant trading and laughing in an otherwise questionable situation, he's do his best to bring that to the other brought here as well.
He follows her motion with his eyes, and grins, "More creative than a circle, though, right?" He gestures to his palm, grinning ruefully, though the humor wholly reaches his eyes. "I mean... wow... a circle. How inventive. Maybe they're running short on call signs and symbols."
Back to that archery stuff though, because that's cool. "I think that's awesome, though... I model. Not even remotely as cool as competitive archery. Though I'm also great in a kitchen, which I suppose is something I take pride in." And sewing, and various other happy homemaking hobbies.
"Do they have anyplace you can practice here? I saw somewhere that they have combat and firearms training...?"
